The Aqua Forte GPF 30000 is a complete pressure filter for garden ponds, with a 55 W UVC unit built in. It cleans pond water in three stages: mechanical filtration through layers of filter foam, biological filtration, and UVC to help keep the water clear. It comes supplied with its filter materials, so it is ready to set up with your own pump.
Key features
- Mechanical, biological and UVC water treatment in one unit
- 55 W UVC lamp in its own chamber, so the filter bacteria are not harmed
- Safety temperature sensor switches the UVC off if it overheats and back on again once it has cooled
- Quick clean handle on the lid cleans the foam without opening the filter
- Drain with ball valve for the dirty water
- UVC function indicator and dirt indicator in the lid
- Can be buried for a tidy, discreet installation
- Tough black plastic housing

About the UVC unit
UVC light helps to control the free floating algae that turn pond water green. The lamp is housed in a separate chamber, away from the filter media. Switch it on only once the pump is running and water is flowing. The lamp lasts about 8,000 hours, so it is best replaced at the start of each pond season. The unit can run day and night during the frost free season.
Installation tips
- Place the filter at least 2 metres from the pond
- Start the pump first, then switch on the UVC
- Connect the unit to a socket protected by a 30 mA RCD
- Keep the filter out of direct sun and protect it from frost
A pump is not included.
Filtration advice
Take note that although each filtration system is rated for a specific pond literage, we calculate filtration differently in practice. Size matters, but what matters most is choosing a larger filter than the minimum. A bigger filter means you clean it far less often, and it protects the system itself from damage that comes from running it too close to capacity. For example, on a thirty thousand litre pond we would not recommend a thirty thousand litre filter. We would suggest a larger one, or even two filters together. Otherwise you end up cleaning every week or so. A larger setup gives you a hassle-free system, though of course it depends on your budget. We always tell our customers: bigger is better for easier maintenance and longer filter life.
